What Happens Before We Open a Can of Paint

  1. Step 01

    Free Estimate

    I come out personally, walk the property, and look at every surface. I’ll flag anything that needs special attention (rot, failing caulk, areas that need extra primer) before we agree on a price. No surprises later.

  2. Step 02

    Power Washing

    Every exterior job starts with a thorough wash. Paint applied over salt residue, mold, or dirt won’t bond. We wash first, period.

  3. Step 03

    Scraping, Sanding & Caulking

    We remove all failing paint, sand edges smooth, fill gaps and cracks with exterior-grade caulk, and address any wood damage we find. This is the step a lot of painters rush through. We don’t.

  4. Step 04

    Priming

    Bare wood and problem areas get primed before we paint. Primer is what makes paint stick and last. Skipping it is how you end up calling someone back in two years.

  5. Step 05

    Paint Application

    Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore exterior lines, exclusively. Most projects get two coats. We pick the right finish and formulation for each surface.

  6. Step 06

    Cleanup & Walkthrough

    We clean up completely and walk the job with you before we pack up. If something isn’t right, we fix it before we leave.

From the estimate to completion, John and his team treated me and my home with respect. They painted the entire interior of my home, power washed the exterior, and painted shutters. I can’t say enough about John and his team! We recently had three interior rooms in our house painted, literally from top to bottom, and couldn’t be happier with the results! They were punctual, professional, and a pleasure to work with! They were careful to cover our furniture, meticulously repaired some plaster and ceiling issues, and kept us informed throughout the entire process. John and his guys recently did the trim on our house. They first power washed the house and made it look clean then came as scheduled and painted the trim. They were professional, respectful and clean and did a great job and took care of an area where my satellite dish had been removed. Would highly recommend them.

John and his crew were a pleasure to experience as they exceeded their prediction for finishing work early. I had wood preservative applied to my cedar clapboard home. The results are impeccable and when they finished , My yard and plantings were left just as they found them. The two painters were pleasant and professional throughout all our conversations and reacted positively to all my requests.

Very recently, we had our home power washed and painted by the John Wills Painting Company, and were pleased with the service, the crew, and the results. From the estimate stage to completion of the job, John and his crew made us feel we were well taken care of . John helped with color choice and finding a carpenter to do some minor repairs. The crew worked consistently, quietly, and professionally. They were respectful of our property , cleaned up every day they were here, and worked diligently to complete the job. Our home looks spectacular. Thank you, John and crew, for doing such a lovely job. We are more than pleased with the results.

John and his crew painted the exterior of my two-story colonial house late this summer. He and his crew arrived on-time, as-scheduled and did an excellent job. First, they power-washed my house to remove the dirt and some mildew spots. Next, they hand-brushed the paint on the trim, the windows and the main parts of the house. They were very meticulous and took the time to remove and rehang the downspouts to paint behind them. The crew spent extra time filling holes and fixing some areas of dry-rot wood – and the results are great. At the end of each day, they cleaned up after themselves and made their work-area neat. His price was good and included high quality paint from Sherwin Williams. I would highly recommend John and his team.
